BEFORE AND AFTER: UPDATING LOCKHAVEN DEN

THESE HOMEOWNERS WANTED TO FRESHEN UP THEIR BEAUTIFUL DEN...... AND GRASSCLOTH AND UPDATING THE EXISTING DRAPERIES WAS AT THE TOP OF THEIR LIST! OF COURSE, ONE THING LEAD TO ANOTHER.....AND BEFORE WE KNEW IT, WE WERE MAKING PLANS TO CHANGE MORE THAN JUST THE WALLS AND DRAPERIES !!

WE DECIDED TO PAINT THE BOOKCASES AND FIREPLACE A HIGH GLOSS BLACK....THE PERFECT BACKDROP FOR OUR NEWLY UPHOLSTERED CHAIR TO "POP" AND ALSO ADDS A BIT OF DRAMA TO THE SPACE!

THE OTTOMAN WAS REUPHOLSTERED IN RED TO COORDINATE WITH THE RUG AND THE CONTRAST PIPING ON THE REUPHOLSTERED SOFA....THE OTTOMAN'S CHARCOAL TAPE AND PIPING TIES IN IN WITH THE NEIGHBORING CLUB CHAIR.

FUN PILLOWS!

WE BEEFED UP THE OLD CHAIR SEATS, BOXED THEM, AND ADDED THE COOL VELVET STRIPE!

  4. Are those the same drapes too, just simplified and hung higher up? If so, GREAT idea. You seem very budget conscious. Yet everything turns out gorgeous.

    1. thank you so much!!! yes, same drapes. the customer still loved them and they were still in great condition considering their age...they really are beautiful in person! and lord knows i try to be budget conscious! considering some of the pricey fabrics i show my clients i have to mix in reasonable solids! thanks for reading my blog!
